WOW Training #10
Adding Your Own Blog Page
A "blog" or (web log) is basically just a website -- with one key difference:
* it's extremely easy to add information to it. A blog is like an online journal, so you just log in, type what happened today, post it, and you're done!
Blogging has actually been around since the 1990s. However, it didn't start to gain popularity until 2003, when mighty Google got involved.
Blogs will significantly help your website get better rankings in search engines. Search engines love new, fresh, and constently changing web site content. Blogs are an easy way to do this. Also, if you use a blog on your site, you can advertise other products and opportunities. You will simply login to your blog account and type whatever you want.
Here's how to set up a blog page on your WOW site:
1) Open a free account at: http://www.blogger.com
2) From your "DashBoard", click "Create a Blog"
3) Use the Advanced Blog Setup function (this will create a separate webpage on your site for your blog)
* Blog Title: (Example: Home Based Business Information)
* FTP Server: ftp.YOURDOMAINNAME.com
* Protocol: check FTP
* Blog Filename: (Example: blog.html) [Note: do not name this index.html or it will overwrite your site!]
* Blog URL: http://www.YOURDOMAINNAME.ws/
When your blog is created, you will then be asked to make your first post. Just write a short "Welcome to my Blog" statement. You will then be asked to Publish your blog. You will need your FTP Username and Password. Email me if you don't have this.
There are several other options for setting up your blog. Just email me if you have any trouble with the other options.
Once you have everything setup, you can start making posts about anything you want. I suggest you keep it home business related.
When you are confident that your blog is ready to go, email me and I'll add a link from your home page to your blog.
